Book Review: Same Life, New Story

Same Life, New Story – by Jan Silvious
In exchange for a free copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers, I have been invited to write and submit a review for it.
I received this book late last week and spent the weekend and yesterday reading it. I look forward to a time in the not-so-distant future when I might revisit this book and take a bit of time with it. I think it will be beneficial for me to take the ten weeks it was designed for and work through the study built within.
The purpose of this book is to help women take a new and fresh look at our lives. It is so easy to get mired in old ideas and past hurts and forget what a miracle it is that we are alive, in our lives at this time. The author draws examples from the lives of ten biblical women: Naomi, Leah, Rahab, Deborah, Hannah, Anna, Jehosheba, Abigail, Namaan’s Servant Girl and Elizabeth; as well as from the lives of specific modern women. Using these inspirational example, Jan reminds us that if we are stuck in a life that restricts our ability to live fully that it is possible to rewrite our story and live it better.
She illustrates that by living the life we have as fully as we possibly can we can bring praise and glory to God our creator. It is a very good study.
